We give up a lot of our own personal information when browsing the internet and recent revelations around data and privacy breaches at the big tech companies mean this is a growing concern among many people.

As much as you might try to manage your privacy settings and watch where you go, it's difficult to keep full control of your data. There are various tools that can make it difficult for advertisers or malicious actors on the internet from seeing your activity and your information. However, these tools may not give you the protection you think you're getting. Did you know that VPNs can still get hacked? This is because nothing is really "hack proof."

Data security and analytics company Varonis has put together a guide analyzing different privacy tools to see how anonymous you really are when using things like incognito mode and VPNs.  Their infographic below examines exactly what levels of privacy can be achieved.
