If you’re undecided on the best platforms and channels to allocate budget to next year, a brand new Infographic has some surprising insights to help you choose where to spend your 2016 advertising dollars.

Before committing any budget, you’ll first want to check that you’re keeping up with the trends driving the industry forwards – and making sure your competitors don’t get the jump on the most profitable new strategies.

According to the Advertising Budgets 2016: 4 Trends You Need To Know infographic from MDG, there are three key developments you need to keep front and center.

  • Social spend – expect Facebook ads to be of particular interest
  • Mobile – if you haven’t yet dedicated a chunk of budget to mobile advertising, it is set to be the biggest growing ad segment of the next 12 months
  • TV – will be overshadowed by digital for the first time
  • Video – digital video ad spend could be the dark horse of 2016 budgeting
